Jazz Studies & Ensemble
Jazz Studies is a class and ensemble that specializes in Jazz studies for both instruments and voice. Jazz Studies seeks to equip students with the tools necessary to become better musicians. The class will study techniques of Jazz music, the music theory behind the genres, and will work on writing and arranging pieces for the group. The Jazz Ensemble performs music spanning classical and combo jazz, vocal jazz, world music, R&B and more. The ensemble includes weekly rehearsals, 3-4 concerts a year, a retreat, and opportunities to tour and travel.
