Hailed by students as a “pretty good teacher, I guess” Benjamin Maley is a classical conductor, performer, educator, private lessons instructor, session drummer, composer, and arranger in Southern California. He is thrilled to be overseeing the Instrumental Music department at Whittier Christian. Ben directs the Band classes and ensembles including Symphonic Band, Pep Band, and Drumline. Ben graduated Magna Cum Laude from Biola University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education and has had the blessing of teaching multiple grades in Christian education. Amongst his many educational responsibilities, Ben enjoys performing and recording with a variety of classical and contemporary groups such as the La Mirada Symphony, Synesthesia Sinfonietta, for artists Ellery Sablan, Chris Hutton, and Cody Romberg, and for the Millennial Choir and Orchestras at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. He lives in Buena Park with his wife and cute cat Luna.
